Young Artists: Ages 11-14

TheatreMakers Lab

TheatreMaker (n): an artist who specializes in creating theatre as a whole, not focusing in only one area 

Learn about methods of theatrical storytelling, ignite a creative fire, and see the world through new eyes. In this innovative experience, young artists are invited to “explode stories,” looking at every aspect of the theatre development process, including performance, design, writing, building, and so much more.     

These classes is for the young artist who loves creating – no prior theatre experience is necessary, but everyone from the seasoned professional to the newbie will learn, connect, and grow.

September 24-October 15: Mythical

Origin stories. Tales that tell of long-ago times. Supernatural and full of twists and turns. In this class, young artists explore what it means to be mythical and create their own set of mythology, bringing it to life through theatre.

October 22-November 19: StoryLab

It’s not just what story you tell, but how you tell it. TheatreMakers StoryLab is an introduction to personal storytelling. Using acting techniques, imagination, and storybuilding, young artists develop, rehearse, and share in a relaxed, collaborative environment. Everyone has a story to tell, what’s yours?

Camp Cancellation and Withdrawal Policy


Asolo Rep reserves the right to alter or cancel programs as necessary. If a program is cancelled by Asolo Rep, participants will receive a tuition refund in full. 


  • All withdrawal requests must be sent in writing to education@asolorep.org 
  • If a participant withdraws from a class before the second day of class, the registration cost is refunded, less a $25 administrative fee.
  • Due to the resource scheduling and commitments required to provide the programs, no refunds are given after the second day of class.
