FAQ

Got questions? We've got answers.

20-21 Season

Q: When will you share information about your plans for the 20-21 season?

A: On January 18, 2021, Asolo Rep announced the postponement of Our Town, Grand Horizons, Knoxville, and Hood to the 2021-22 season. We also announced our new outdoor series at that time. View details about that announcement, here. Any additional changes to the season will be communicated to our patrons via email, in our weekly newsletter STAY ENGAGED, and posted on our website: www.asolorep.org.

Q: What measures will you take to keep audiences safe for your outdoor performances?

A:  Asolo Rep will comply with all state and local requirements for public assembly and with CDC recommendations that pertain to areas of public assembly. Those measures include mandatory mask-wearing over nose and mouth at all times while at the venue, socially distanced seating, hand-sanitizing stations, no concessions, and no intermission. For a complete list of health and safety protocols, please click here.

Q: What are your policies for outdoor performances in case of inclement weather?

A: While rain can come and go very quickly in our area, Asolo Rep will make every attempt to present each performance even if rain is in the forecast. If a performance is cancelled or abandoned mid-way due to weather, patrons may either exchange their ticket for another performance or receive a refund. (Shows lasting more than 40 minutes are considered complete performances. Shows lasting less than 40 minutes are considered “rained out.”)

Q: What happened with my existing 2020-21 subscription?

A: If you are a subscriber and had tickets to canceled or postponed performances, either as part of a 6-Play or Flex subscription, we have automatically placed the value of those tickets on account with us as a credit. That credit can be used to purchase tickets to our upcoming outdoor performances, or you can use those funds toward future purchases at Asolo Rep, including our outdoor performances on the Terrace Stage or your subscription renewal for the 2021-22 season.

If you prefer, you may opt to donate the value of your tickets to Asolo Rep and receive a 100% tax-deductible receipt. Or, you may request a refund of the value of your subscription tickets. You may donate or request a refund by clicking here.

Q: I am a 6-Play Subscriber and enjoy sitting in the same seats every production. If I feel unsafe attending the outdoor performances, will this affect my chosen seats for the 2021-22 season?

A: Your subscription seats for the Mertz Theatre are safe and we will hold them for you for next season.

Q: How can I make an additional gift to Asolo Rep?

A: We appreciate your continued support as a member of our Asolo Rep family. If you would like to further support the theatre during this challenging time, you can choose to make an additional gift to our “No Place Like Home” Sustainability Campaign. Click here to learn more.

Q: What if I need additional information?

A: Our Patron Services staff is at your service and here to assist you. Our physical office is currently closed and our staff are working from their homes, so we ask that you contact us via email at [email protected]. We will reply to email inquiries at the earliest opportunity during regular business hours Monday-Friday, 10am – 5pm.

Is there more than one theatre?

Yes. The FSU Center for the Performing Arts houses two theatres. The main performance space for the Asolo Repertory Theatre is the Mertz Theatre, a beautifully restored 500-seat facility originally built in 1903 as an opera house in Dunfermline, Scotland. Asolo Rep also typically performs one show per season in the intimate and contemporary 161-seat Cook Theatre, also housed in the center. The FSU/Asolo Conservatory performs primarily in the Cook Theatre.

What happens if I'm late to a show?

To cause the least amount of disruption to the performance and the other patrons, if you arrive late you will be seated at the discretion of the house manager. You might not be seated in your assigned seat until intermission
