What are the box office hours?

During season, the box office is open:

  • Monday: 10 am - 5 pm
  • Tuesday - Thursday: 10 am - 7:30 pm
  • Friday and Saturday: 10 am - 8 pm
  • Sunday: 10 am - 2 pm

Box Office phone lines close one hour prior to any performance. The box office closes at 5 pm when no evening performances are scheduled.

During the summer and non-performance dates, the box office is open Monday through Friday 10 am - 5 pm.

Where do I park?

Convenient free parking is available in front of the FSU Center for the Performing Arts, however during season, the parking lot can fill up quickly. Please plan to arrive early to allow plenty of time for parking. Parking for the disabled is located in the front and east of the building with ramp access to the lobby.

What are the directions to the theatre?

Asolo Rep is located in the FSU Center for the Performing Arts adjacent to the Ringling Museum of Art in Sarasota, just one hour south of Tampa and two hours from Orlando.

From I-75 take the University Parkway exit 213 west and continue about six miles to the intersection of University Parkway and U.S. 41/Tamiami Trail. Cross through the light and toward the Ringling Museum. Turn right into the parking lot at the sign for Museum Parking. The Center is at the north end of the parking lot.

Is there more than one theatre?

Yes. The FSU Center for the Performing Arts houses two theatres. The main performance space for Asolo Repertory Theatre is the Mertz Theatre, a beautifully restored 530-seat facility originally built in 1903 as an opera house in Dunfermline, Scotland. Asolo Rep also occasionally performs in the intimate and contemporary 161-seat Cook Theatre, also housed in the center. The FSU/Asolo Conservatory performs primarily in the Cook Theatre.

What happens if I'm late to a show?

To minimize disruption, late arrivals will be seated at the discretion of the house manager. You might not be seated in your assigned seat until intermission.

What if I miss my show?

Subscribers may exchange for another performance of the same title up to 24 hours prior to curtain. If you are a Flex Pass subscriber, you may exchange your tickets to any show within Asolo Rep's season up to 24 hours prior to curtain. If you are not a subscriber, you may exchange your tickets for another performance of the same title for a $5 per ticket fee. Call the box office at 941.351.8000.

Can my tickets be refunded?

No. All sales are final. If you cannot attend a performance and wish to donate your tickets back to the theatre, please call the box office at 941.351.8000 in advance of your performance date. You don't even have to bring the tickets to us! We will happily accept the tickets for resale, and give you a tax receipt and our heartfelt thanks for your donation.

My seat numbers 1 and 3 are these together?

Yes. Seats on the left side of the theatre are odd-numbered and seats on the right side are even-numbered, starting in the center.

Are the theatres accessible to persons with disabilities?

Yes. The theatres, parking, and bathrooms are all fully accessible to persons with disabilities. Wheelchair seating must be requested in advance when ordering tickets by calling the box office at 941.351.8000 or 800.361.8388.

Assistive listening devices are available in the lobby.

Am I permitted to bring my firearm to a performance or event?

No. The FSU Center for the Performing Arts, where Asolo Repertory Theatre and FSU/Asolo Conservatory for Actor Training perform, is a venue owned and operated by Florida State University. Florida prohibits the carrying of firearms on college campuses, including guns carried by citizens who hold concealed-carry weapons permits.

What is your policy on cameras and cell phones?

NO cameras or recording devices of any kind are permitted in the theatres. We kindly ask that cell phones and pagers be turned off during performances.

Can I bring children to the theatre?

Asolo Rep offers a wide range of programming and age-appropriateness varies. Many of Asolo Rep's shows are appropriate for teens. If you have questions about the age-appropriateness of any show, please call the box office at 941.351.8000.

Do all shows have an intermission?

Most shows at Asolo Rep have at least one 15 minute intermission. On occasion a show may be performed without an intermission. Please call the box office at 941.351.8000 after a production has opened for information on running times and intermissions.

What is the dress code at Asolo Rep?

At Asolo Rep you'll see all types of dress – from cocktail attire to resort casual to jeans. Most patrons dress as they would go out to a restaurant. Evenings and opening nights tend to be a little dressier than matinees. Insider tip: the theatre tends to be cool.

Do you offer tours of your facility?

We currently do not offer tours of the theatre.

How can I be contacted in case of an emergency?

Notify the house manager before curtain and give them your name and seat location. Please turn off your cell phone or pager during a performance.

Public Health & Safety Measures for 23/24 season

  • The HVAC system has been optimized to include MERV13 final filtration in all spaces.
  • The Mertz Theatre’s outside air intake has been increased to 40% fresh air with 13 air changes per hour.
  • The theatre and lobby are frequently sanitized.
  • Touchless ticketing is available for all performances.
  • Digital programs are available for all performances.
