Position: Ticket Services Representative


Asolo Repertory Theatre, Florida’s premiere professional theatre located in Sarasota, FL seeks part time individuals to provide outstanding customer service to patrons in the ticket/patron services department.
This position handles inbound and outbound calls for single tickets, subscription phone sales campaigns and assists patrons with questions, comments, and other services. Responsibilities include:

  • Develop and manage patron relationships with single ticket buyers and subscribers both in person and over the phone.
  • Answer incoming phone calls timely and accurately in order to sell single tickets to productions.
  • Make outgoing phone calls in efforts to help patrons renew/buy new season subscriptions.
  • Upsell and recommend ticket and subscription packages and special promotions.
  • Assist customers with questions about productions, Asolo Rep’s policies, theatre layout, and seating.
  • Accurately handle sales with credit cards, checks and cash. 


Candidates should have previous customer service, and preferably, box office/telemarketing experience. Position requires professional etiquette and work ethic, great attention to detail, excellent social, verbal and written communication skills. Candidates should have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite. Previous experience with Tessitura is a plus.
All applicants must be able to work with others, be self-motivated and be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Typical workweek will be 16-28 hours: some evenings and weekends are required. Must be able to lift at least 25 lbs.

Position: House Services Manager

Department: Marketing

  •  Secures, schedules, provides training and manages volunteer ushers for all FSU Center for the Performing Arts performances. Also recruits volunteers as needed for other Asolo Repertory Theatre activities.
  • Greets and oversees seating of patrons in 500-seat Mertz Theatre as well as 165-seat Cook Theatre on occasion. Interacts with patrons to assure their comfort and safety, answers their questions, and helps solve their problems.
  • Ensures all public spaces are clean and presentable before, during and after performances.
  • Maintains positive liaison and close contact with the Box Office staff to troubleshoot ticketing and other patron issues while maintaining customer satisfaction and comfort.
  • Assists in all accessibility services and monitors patron ease and comfort.
  • Coordinates with the Stage Manager to maintain the starting time and intermission interval of each performance.
  • Generates and maintains performance activity reports which include house counts, time statistics; assisted hearing unit distribution and contributions.
  • Maintains the assisted hearing and narration equipment, its care, cleaning and repair; manages a system of distribution/collection and related usage donations.
  • Organizes annual Volunteer Appreciation Event.
  • Assures that an up-to-date Volunteer Handbook is kept up to date and distributed, and that the policies and procedures therein are properly managed and enforced.
  • Efficiently and effectively manages emergency situations and generates written documentation when appropriate.
  • Reports and follows through with any malfunctions and safety concerns in the lobby and house to Facilities Management.
  • Other duties as assigned.


  •  Exemplary communication, customer service, organizational and leadership skills.
  • Experience with volunteers and practical knowledge of theatre environment is essential.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, even temperament, ability to supervise effectively and mediate problems with volunteers and patrons.
  • Sustained physical activity includes lifting up to 35 lbs, moving up and down stairs, pushing carts and remaining on feet for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to handle multiple tasks and situations concurrently, able to make decisions with confidence and work under pressure. Able to have and sustain a positive and professional demeanor.
  • Strong computer skills required.
  • College degree preferred.


  • Position is 40 hours per week; approximately 40 weeks per year. Day, evening and weekend hours required with the exception of dark performance days; occasional morning performances.

  • Asolo Repertory Theatre, Florida’s premiere professional theatre located in Sarasota, FL seeks a development professional with a demonstrated success in individual giving and development communications to steward donor relations, communications, and benefits fulfillment, and to direct campaigns for new donors. Responsibilities include:

Essential Job Functions:
  • Steward relationships with members of Asolo Rep’s different donor groups, with a primary focus on donors giving below the major donor level, in partnership with Development staff  and board members.
  • Communicate donor benefits, including designing e-vites for donor events, and conducting follow up on invitations.
  • Work independently to manage monthly print and email campaigns to renew and attract members to Asolo Rep donor groups with a primary focus on donors giving below the major donor level.
  • Design and implement cultivation strategies to move current donors up giving level.
  • Coordinate donor attendance at monthly backstage tours.
  • Manage monthly donor e-newsletter, and assist in providing development content for Season Program Book, Playbills, Ticket Brochure, Website, and A/V presentations.
  • In collaboration with Development Data Associate, ensure accurate data entry, contact management and financial recordkeeping, timely gift acknowledgment and renewal correspondence, using discretion with confidential information.
  • Ensure proper donor recognition on print and online promotional materials in coordination with marketing department.
  • In collaboration with Development Data Associate, track funds raised from individual gifts against annual budget income goals.
  • In collaboration with Development Data Associate, run lists and reports on Tessitura.
  • In collaboration with Special Events Manager, organize specific events for donors giving below the major donor level throughout the season, and manage RSVPs.
  • Participate as a member of a dynamic development team, and attend and assist with development events and projects as needed.
  • Attend at least one performance of every Asolo Rep production.
Candidates should have an undergraduate degree and prior experience in not-for-profit fundraising emphasizing individual giving and membership, and experience with development databases and online communications.   Experience in arts fundraising, and educational degrees in fundraising or arts management, a plus. Requires great attention to detail and deadlines; excellent social, verbal and written communication skills; and facility with Microsoft Word and Excel, and online research. Experience with Tessitura a plus. The successful candidate will thrive working in a fast-paced environment with high levels of interaction as well as independent work. Must be flexible in working long hours, nights and occasional weekends. Must be able to lift 25 lbs.  Salary commensurate with experience.

The role of the Box Office is to provide the highest standards of customer service in order to achieve optimal sales of tickets and other services. 

Reporting to the Box Office Manager, the Assistant Box Office Manager is responsible for providing the best possible standard of service, supporting Box Office staff in sales and services and assisting the Box Office Manager in the day-to-day operation of the Box Office.

  • Actively and effectively manage and train the box office team, including advising Box Office Manager of all staff-related performance issues and where individual feedback has been given.
  • Provide support, assistance and feedback to all staff when on duty to ensure that the best possible service is offered at all times.
  • Work to effectively resolve patron queries and problems in a professional manner; report problems to Box Office Manager; recommend improvements in customer service standards and procedures.
  •  Efficiently and accurately process ticket orders, exchanges, subscriptions and special requests in Tessitura ticketing system.
  • Supervise performance Will Call, working with House Manager to ensure efficient, professional load-in of audience.
  •  Communicate effectively with various departments, including Development and Company management to process ticket requests.
  •  Process, complete and track charitable requests for ticket and voucher donations.
  • Accurately balance the daily Box Office income, manage box office cash supply.
  • Ensure the accurate and timely set-up of Box Office staff schedules.

  • A minimum of two years’ proven track record in a customer service environment.
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • Box Office/ticketing experience required; Tessitura experience is a plus.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good understanding and working knowledge of software packages (i.e. Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Ability to deal with a wide range of customers in a positive manner.
  • Understanding of basic financial reporting.
  • Ability to multi task, effectively problem solve, and be self-disciplined.
